John Kennefeik of Rathcormac
.... [From] the Corke Journal of 21 April 1768. On 17 April at Parish Church, Gortroe Mrs Barbara Spring, Mrs Ann Herring, John Kennefeik all of Rathcormac renounced the errors of the Church of Rome.
I suspect this was an elder brother of Edmund and Richard who had gone to seek their fortunes in Cork. Probably something to do with the extensive Kenifeck landholdings around Rathcormac. The first relaxation of the Penal Laws did not come until 1778.
